Problem with windows 7 media center
Sanmartin, what software cause your problem? I have the same problem, my ehcvr. Hello, and thanks to everyone for their replies. I will try uninstalling Aver's stuff and see what that does. This is an x86 upgrade from a Vista install, and it wasn't working in Vista either, but in that case MCE was shutting down on start up, not just after selecting Live TV.
I will see what happens and reply back when I have the time. Thanks again everyone. Tuesday, August 25, AM. Brown 0. Tuesday, August 25, PM. The new channel number will already exist in the listings and you will be asked to resolve the conflict.
If you are editing many channel numbers, you can select Sort List to sort the list numerically by channel number and view the revised listings. On the Start screen, scroll to Tasks , select settings , select TV , select Guide , and then do one of the following:. From the list displayed, click the appropriate Guide listings for that channel. Continue to add listings as needed. After completing your changes, select Save to return to Guide settings.
Follow the directions to select a new channel lineup. If you are not sure which TV service provider to select, check your monthly cable bill for that information.
The Guide information is downloaded periodically over the Internet from your Guide's listed service provider. You're notified that "No data is available" in the Guide if:. Windows Media Center can't connect to the Internet to download the new Guide information, and the Guide information that was previously downloaded is corrupt or has expired.
If you receive a TV signal from a satellite TV provider and you do not subscribe to the local channels, the TV listings in the Guide will probably not include the local channel package.
Because the digital TV listings are often derived from the local listings, not having the local standard TV listings in the Guide means that you won't have listings for the equivalent digital TV channels. To get listings for the digital TV channels, you can reconfigure the part of the Guide that deals with standard TV and choose a different TV service provider that includes the local channels.
By adding the local channels, your digital TV channels will be correlated with the appropriate Guide information for the local channels now included in the Guide. Try selecting a new region, and then select a new ZIP Code or Postal Code to see if you get more accurate Guide listings, even if they are not listed specifically for your region.
You will be prompted to confirm your region. To never see the AutoPlay dialog box, select Take no action next to the device or disc. To choose an action each time you plug in a device or insert a disc, select Ask me every time. To have a program open automatically each time, select the program.

Using onboard ATI video from G chipset. But when I replay video I've recorded off of my tuners, occasionally, they simply freeze. I can press stop, wait 5 secs, press resume and things are good.
Running current drivers for all hardware, clean machine. Thursday, October 22, AM. I don't think this is the same issue. Then asking us if we have done our software patches or updates would be valid.
In today's computer users, I think it would be a self reflex for us to constantly update. It's amazes me everytime a tech question is asked to a support anywhere.
The support person always asks back with quite a mundane note like "have you update, disable all services". It tries to caches the entire disk before it starts playing it. Kind of Stupid to be engineered that way. I have noticed alot of engineer design programs that are too smart until they function stupidly. Monday, October 26, AM. Friday, November 20, AM. What drivers did you install - the ones that came on the CD in the box, the latest-available Forceware release from nVidia, or nothing relied on Windows to install drivers automagically?

Sunday, November 22, AM. Brian: :D I could have worded better: should have been "every single desktop and notebook videocard. Actually, what this shows is this isn't tied to ATI cards only. Initial posts in other sites only talked about ATI cards and this problem.
It's obvious MS has a greater problem, but of course other than the unacceptable option presented by them weeks ago to reset MC to defaults, thus potentially losing customizations perhaps including scheduled recordings and history , they've TOTALLY ignored us. Perhaps it's time to dump MC and go to Sage and Linux. I don't hear anyone having issues with Sage and locking up like this.
Sunday, November 22, PM. Linda, Your post is NOT the answer. Please unmark it as the answer and help us find a solution. Agreed even though I'm not having this issue, I'd still like to give what help I can. Re-reading the posts in this thread, GoldenNaped is OT, though - he does have a very different issue that what everyone else has. GoldenNaped can't get MC to start at all, when he's using his nVidia card.
GoldenNaped: Try this. Uninstall the drivers for both your ATI and nVidia graphics. Reboot, enter BIOS, disable onboard video. Boot into Windows, and install the latest Forceware release for your nVidia card. Reboot again.
MC work? Are you running setpoint 4. Sunday, January 3, AM.
