So much attention to detail, but I find this series exceptional in its treatment of each story. The interviewees are well spoken and seem to have been dealt with respect and dignity. We the viewers are also treated respectfully: the program doesn't resort to utilizing stock images from the case over and over or recycle pan shots to extend 10 minutes of info into a 30 minute film.

The one thing that has irked me: twice, in episode 1 and again in episode 6 of season 1, they clearly describe a particular make and model of a vehicle, and then proceed to use a completely different vehicle in the re-enactment. I'm not sure why it bothers me quite so much The producers clearly didn't mind using photos: they couldn't be bothered to seek stock images of the actual vehicles involved in those cases?

Details Edit. Release date February 27, United States. Real-life Tragedy into Cheesy Melodrama. I've watched the first season on Netflix so this review is based on that.

I'm glad each of these crimes was solved, but it is painfully clear that the producers had minimal footage for some of them as the same clips are featured several times in short succession, not even always cut all that differently.

I found myself getting irritated, like we KNOW. It doesn't make for gripping viewing. Better to feature, say, three crimes in an episode than two, repeating the same footage to pad them out. Even worse, rather than presenting the material in the serious, perhaps contemplative way that the victims deserved, it is painfully sensationalised.

Instead of allowing the interviews with family, detectives and the like to speak for themselves, the interviews and photos are cut to force dun dun DUUUUN moments. Apart from that this just makes for terrible TV, I feel like it is disrespectful to the victims and the people they left behind.

It's vastly inappropriate to melodramatise tragedies. M1ll1e Jan 12, Details Edit. Release date January 1, United States. United States. Ypotheseis arheiou. Kurtis Productions. Technical specs Edit.
